  1. Anime North Report part 3

Thought I should finally finish the report of the last con before I leave tomorrow t go to the one this weekend (AnimeNext).

    Anime North Sunday 5/27/2012.

((If any of the amazing cosplayers in these pictures is you and you and want me to link to you, please let me know through my ask box!))

(( Some cosplayers I saw early that morning ))

So on Sunday, I walked around a bit in the morning, because I wasn’t sure if I was going to go to the Hetalia panel or not. I’m not the biggest Hetalia fan, actually. But the desire to see J. Michael Tatum again won out and I went. And I’m so glad I did.

The Hetalia panel had Akira Sasanuma, the Japanese voice of Austria, and the three English voice actors I’d seen on panels at that con before (J. Michael Tatum, the voice of France; Brina Palencia, the voice of Chibitalia; and Monica Rial, the voice of Belarus and Flying Mint Bunny). This is an amazing combination! If you ever get the chance to see Sasanuma-san on a panel with Tatum… GO! Those two are just wonderful!

Monica brought mint bunny peeps and passed them out to the panel.

    And then this happened.

So that’s how that panel went. I took some video of various parts of it (including one moment when someone asked if the voice actors use their character voices to prank call people, and Tatum spoke about how he uses the voices in the drive-thru). It was also interesting seeing a Japanese voice actor and a few English voice actors from the same show on a panel. Sasanuma had been on the Hetalia panel with Tatum at Otakon last year as well, that was also interesting.

After that, I saw the Eyeshield 21 photoshoot. I’ve never actually watched that show or read the manga, but I know sports anime is under appreciated with North American / English speaking fans, so it was nice to see some representation of that genre. Also this moment was cute. The player with the blond hair and gun was very energetic ^_^

And then I saw a few more great cosplayers…

… before I left to go to the airport and came home.

So that’s my Anime North report. You can expect something similar after Anime Next.
